Encouragement For Today – October 12, 2018

October 12, 2018

Hey friends! I don’t know about you, but I feel like I tend to have “Aha” moments at some of the weirdest times. This morning as I prayed I pleaded for God to send me a scripture that would help me really believe I can come to Him with anything, about anything. He led me to read Hebrews 4:16.

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” – Hebrews 4:16, NLT

The scratches, stains, and other imperfections on my dinner table reminds me so much of myself and the fact that I’m imperfect but Jesus loves me so much that he welcomes every scratch, stain, and imperfection.

Sometimes the ugliness within me causes me to feel as if I’m not worthy enough to approach the Father and make my request known to Him. I know Satan is a liar and He wants me to feel like I’m not worthy of approaching Jesus and that He doesn’t have the power to help me when I need it most. Am I alone or can you identify with me?

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. – 1 Peter 5:8, NLT

“Satan is a clever liar because his lies sound so much like the truth. He wants to change your thought processes in order to deceive you and destroy you. He is not only the father of lies, but he lies about the biggest subject—God.” – Love Worth Finding

If you can identify with me, I hope you’ll be encouraged as I was reading this scripture. The enemy wants us to feel like we shouldn’t approach the throne of grace. He’d rather we approach the throne of a friend, the throne of the internet, or some other source that isn’t Jesus. However, if/when we do decide to approach Jesus he wants us to go before Him sulky, resentful, faithless, and unsure that He will hear us.

The truth is, Jesus desires that we (yes, that includes you too sweet pea?) approach His throne BOLDLY. Without feeling the need to be perfect. With confidence. With persistence. Approach Him constantly…over and over again. Freely…just as we are…just as we know how (no need for a manual on how to do it, just go with what you know)…without feeling like we have to come with the perfect words.

When I approach His throne of grace BOLDLY, I know that I will receive exactly what I need…HELP in my time of need. ~ Tiffany Z. Williams

I don’t know about you, but what I need from God right now isn’t anything materialistic. I need help to overcome some strongholds in my life that seems to keep me imprisoned. Each time I try to break free and escape, I feel like I’m immediately recaptured and thrown back behind the bars of unforgiveness, shame, embarrassment, etc.

Jesus wants us to know that no matter how big or small our requests are. He will help us. All we have to do is make our request known to Him, and have faith that He will answer.

So while we wait for Him to answer make a conscious effort to walk in the freedom He has already given us. Declare today that you will not be anxious about anything and continue to pray and praise God daily. Although I sometimes feel like I’m not free, I know that I am because who the Son sets free is truly free indeed.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” – Philippians 4:6, ESV

And to you Satan, no matter what lies you try to feed me, I will resist them each and every time until you flee.

“So place yourselves under God’s authority. Resist the devil, and he will run away from you.” – James 4:7, GW

Friends, let’s continuously declare we have victory in Jesus and we are “No Longer Slaves”. Can I get an amen sistah??

In His Love,

Tiffany
